Our Story
Community Advantage Rehabilitation (CAR) was started in 1997 in Durham Region by five innovative women with physiotherapy and occupational therapy backgrounds. The company began with a team consisting of 1 administrative staff and 20 service providers. After 29 years, CAR was acquired by a large healthcare company and ultimately acquired by Spectrum Health Care in 2026. CAR is now established as the largest provider of home care services in Durham Region, with 9 administrative staff and over 75 service providers.
